We have put into operation various initiatives over the last few months, all of which have been designed to improve our standing in the community, to make us a more approachable and client-friendly company and to become more well known locally. We also aim to make people understand that we as funeral directors are not only part of the community when there is a death, but also throughout the year and can be associated with the less unhappy times. To this end, we have done the following: Sponsored a local boy's football team, buying the kit. Been involved with work placements such as Trident (15/16 year olds) and Connexions (17/18 year olds) Run free training courses for staff of nursing and residential homes. Donated pantomime tickets with a chauffeur driven limousine to the Rowans Hospice Summer and Christmas Fairs in order to raise funds for the charity. Mounted a window display using World War II memorabilia to commemorate the 60 th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Placed an electronic Book of Remembrance in our office, which is open to everyone, and which is used to raise funds for charity. All of these initiatives have resulted in the company becoming better known and more accessible within the community; we often find that people call into the office for a chat or a cup of tea! | | |
